Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email sent to us for the purpose of responding. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive limited technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent
- A referring site, when one is supplied
- The time recorded for each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help show how the service is used, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating the service and maintaining page speed
- Routing a submitted search to the selected provider
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
We do not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Midland County court dockets or personal case records. The service provides general directions to the District Clerk, County Clerk, trial courts, and statewide search system. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices, not this policy. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Midland County clerks, Texas court portals, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before disclosing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across sites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Search providers processing a query you submit
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection rights vary by residence and applicable law. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, concerns government records and does not govern our private visitor data. Judicial records follow Texas court rules, including Rule of Judicial Administration 12, and Midland Municipal Court judicial records are distinct from ordinary city public-information requests. For data held by us, you may:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate data
- Ask for deletion where applicable
- Decline certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
